11/16/2023 0 Comments Sculptris runtime error![]() but I have Multiple Sclerosis, which can hinder my ability to sit at my computer most days and the reason we got my Surface is so that I can work on things while I rest on my couch. I know what you're thinking "Well, why not just use your PC?" Well, I would, and I will. It doesn't crash when I go back to my desktop PC and a multitude of my other imaging software like Corel Paint and Clip Studio Pro run just fine. The problem is that every time I try and start Sculptris via Remote Access, it crashes. And finally, I've tried Windows Remote Desktop, which is probably the best option as the input delay seems minimal. while it's still an option, it won't be ideal until I rework my wifi network better in order to prevent the bottlenecking(with 7 people in the house, that's difficult to do). I've tried TeamViewer- which DOES work, but the input drag is too severe and it's difficult to actively sculpt using this. I've tried Virtual Tablet, which doesn't fit my needs- I don't need to turn my Surface into a digitizer, my monitor connected to my PC is already a tablet monitor. I've accepted that my new computer is too new(something my poor ass has never had to deal with before! □) and so have been trying possible workarounds. I'm aware of the issues with the ARM processor and that Zbrush(as well as many other CAD programs) doesn't yet work with them. My problem comes more when I'm working on my new MS Surface Pro X. it's a great little program to start off with. It works awesome on my PC no real issues, no lagging. ![]() while I'm definitely going to be getting Zbrush, I thought it would be a good idea to start learning with something basic before I drop $40 a month on the full program. I've dabbled with SculptGL, which I've had no problem running on any of my computers, but it's a bit of a rudimentary program and lacks the ability to get as detailed as I need to. however, 10 years has been a long time for software development and all of these have changed significantly to the point where I'm needing to relearn, so I'm honestly more a novice if I'm to put any label to my experiences I have and understand the knowledge, I just need to build the skill. I have experience with Maya, Blender, 3DStudio Max, Poser and DAZ3D, Modo, and Zbrush. I'm not brand new to this, I dabbled in it about 10 years back as well as took classes in college before I changed my major. ![]() I'm an illustrator trying to get more involved in 3D sculpting. So, let me explain my situation and why I need help with this. ![]() Y'all make me more excited to get into this stuff! First off, let me tell you how impressed I am by everyone's talent. ![]()
